LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Kelli Goldsborough, a nurse practitioner at the St. Mary’s County Health Department, received the School Based Health Center Rising Leadership Award from the Maryland Assembly on School-Based Health Care on May 14, 2025. Recognized for her exceptional leadership and potential in school-based health care, Goldsborough has significantly expanded access to quality health services for students and families at Spring Ridge Middle School’s health center.

As the lead nurse practitioner at the Spring Ridge Middle School-Based Health Center, Goldsborough has become a trusted provider known for her compassionate care and deep community ties. A St. Mary’s County native, she returned to the area three years ago to serve its residents. Her efforts focus on improving health outcomes by connecting families to community resources and enhancing health literacy through volunteer-led education sessions, often held on evenings and weekends.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this award,” Goldsborough said. “I’m so thankful for the whole community that comes together every day to make sure the children have the healthy start they all deserve.” Her dedication has fostered trust among families, driving increased utilization of the health center’s services.
