The Orioles tied it in the same inning when Maverick Handley scored on a wild pitch by Mariners starter Bryan Woo. Raleigh’s two-run homer in the fifth, his 24th of the season, put Seattle ahead 3-1.

Baltimore’s offense erupted in the sixth. Rutschman hit a two-run homer, his seventh, scoring Jackson Holliday to tie the game at 3-3. Henderson followed with a solo shot, his eighth, giving the Orioles a 4-3 lead. “Those back-to-back homers flipped the game,” a post-game summary noted. The Mariners couldn’t recover, managing only one hit in the final three innings.

Zach Eflin earned the win for Baltimore, improving to 5-2 with a 4.47 ERA. He pitched six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts. Relievers Keegan Akin, Andrew Kittredge, and Bryan Baker shut down Seattle, with Baker securing his second save. Rutschman led the Orioles, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Henderson and Emmanuel Rivera also contributed, with Rivera doubling in the ninth. For Seattle, Raleigh drove in all three runs, finishing 2-for-4 with a homer. J.P. Crawford and Miles Mastrobuoni each had two hits, but the team left six runners on base.

Both teams played error-free baseball under sunny, 67-degree conditions with a light breeze. The game lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes, with key moments including Polanco’s stolen base and Seattle’s failure to capitalize with runners in scoring position, going 2-for-8.

The Orioles, fifth in the AL East, gained momentum with the win, while the second-place Mariners in the AL West missed a chance to widen their divisional lead. The game highlighted Baltimore’s resilience and timely hitting, critical for their 2025 campaign.
