ERIE, Pa. — The Bowie Baysox fell 6-4 to the Erie SeaWolves in a rain-delayed Eastern League game on June 19, 2025, at UPMC Park. Despite a strong offensive push, including doubles from Creed Willems, Silas Ardoin, and Adam Retzbach, the Baysox couldn’t overcome Erie’s timely hitting and defensive miscues, dropping their record to 29-35.

The game, delayed 1 hour and 26 minutes due to rain, started at 7:31 p.m. with 2,135 fans in attendance under overcast skies. Erie took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on Max Anderson’s triple and Eduardo Valencia’s sacrifice fly. Bowie responded in the second, tying the score at 2-2 with Ardoin’s RBI double scoring Willems and Carter Young’s single driving in Ardoin.

Bowie surged ahead in the third when Retzbach’s two-run double scored Douglas Hodo III and Willems, making it 4-2. However, a throwing error by Erie shortstop Jim Jarvis allowed Retzbach to advance, though he was thrown out at home. Erie narrowed the gap to 4-3 in the third with Trei Cruz’s solo home run and tied it in the fifth when Cruz scored on a hit-by-pitch to Chris Meyers.

The SeaWolves took the lead in the sixth on Anderson’s RBI double, scoring Cruz, and sealed the victory in the eighth when Valencia’s single drove in Anderson, who reached on a throwing error by Bowie’s Noelberth Romero. Erie’s Troy Watson (2-1) earned the win, pitching three scoreless innings, while RJ Petit secured his second save. Yaqui Rivera (1-3) took the loss for Bowie, allowing one run over 1.1 innings.

Bowie’s offense was led by Ardoin, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Retzbach drove in two runs, and Young added an RBI single. For Erie, Anderson went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, and Cruz scored four times, including a homer. Bowie’s defense struggled, with errors by Romero and Reed Trimble costing runs.

The Baysox left three runners in scoring position, going 3-for-7 with runners in scoring position, while Erie was 3-for-11. Bowie’s starter, Nestor German, allowed four runs over 4.1 innings, striking out four. Erie’s Carlos Peña gave up four runs in four innings.
