If you’ve visited the aisles of any Maryland supermarket recently, you’ve likely noticed that prices have ticked higher on more than a few of your staple foods. A perfect storm of rising tariffs, changing climates, and a bird flu outbreak has driven the price of everything from eggs to coffee, with no clear relief in sight.

Capital News Service created a tracker to measure the prices of everyday items sold in Maryland grocery stores. The data is aggregated from online price listings.

Source: All data collected by Capital News Service and Local News Network from grocery stores across Maryland. The prices indicated represent averages calculated based on data collected from online shopping sites of major grocery retailers, including Safeway, Giant Food, and Weis Market. Prices from several locations of each store are collected to represent geographic differences in grocery pricing.
