Dover, Delaware – On July 19, 2025, 18-year-old Connor Zilisch from Mooresville, North Carolina, thrilled Southern Maryland NASCAR fans by winning his fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series race in the rain-shortened BetRivers 200 at Dover Motor Speedway. Piloting the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, Zilisch led 77 of the 134 laps before rain forced NASCAR to call the race early. Aric Almirola and Brandon Jones, driving Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas, finished second and third, respectively.

Zilisch, starting third in a rookie-dominated field, ran in the top two for most of the race, taking the lead after the Stage 2 restart. “We’ve been showing it lately,” Zilisch said on pit road. “I hate that we couldn’t finish the race the right way. Aric was really fast.” He credited his JR Motorsports team for sharp pit stops, securing the win when rain arrived.
