On a hot July evening, Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek hosted an action-packed night of racing, with Kyle Lear of Severna Park claiming his first Crate Late Model victory of the 2025 season. The Potomac Speedway race saw Lear, starting third, overtake early leader Jarrett Edwards on lap 6 in the 20-lap feature.
Despite relentless challenges from two-time winner Ed Pope III, Lear held firm to secure the win. Pope finished second, followed by Edwards, Davis Lipscombe, and Jacob Whitt in the top five. The Potomac Speedway race showcased intense competition, with Lear’s Rocket No. 149 leading the field of 13 cars, though Chuck Bowie, Ben Scott, and Tyler Horst did not finish.






In the 15-lap Modified event, Joey Polevoy earned his first win of the season at the Potomac Speedway race, outlasting Ryan Toole and Robert Kramer Jr. in a tight three-car battle. Michael Ciezoblca and Johnny Brooks rounded out the top five, delivering a thrilling show for Southern Maryland fans. The Street Stock 15-lap race saw Mason Hanson return to victory lane for his second win of 2025. Starting third, Hanson passed polesitter Kyle Randall early and cruised to the win, followed by defending champion Matt Tarbox, Wyatt Hanson, Ricky Edmunds, and Greg Morgan.
Ralph Price, the defending Hobby Stock champion, captured his first win of the season in the 15-lap Potomac Speedway race, fending off three-time winner Mason Hanson. Mikey Latham, Rusty Alton, and Colin Long followed, with five drivers failing to finish the competitive event. The Roadster Class 15-lap race featured Stephen Suite as the third unique winner of 2025, leading points leader Justin Bottorff, Justin Healy, Justin Boarman, and Trevor Hammett across the line. The Potomac Speedway race saw multiple lead changes, keeping fans on edge.
In the Strictly Stock 15-lap nightcap, rookie Brandon Crenshaw continued his hot streak with his second consecutive win. Crenshaw topped John Hardesty Sr., Garrett Cobb, Sarah Culver, and Pat Kelly, with three drivers unable to complete the race.
