Baltimore, Md. – The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 11-4 on July 28, 2025, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, showcasing a potent offense with four home runs and 16 hits against the AL East-leading visitors. The win improved the Orioles’ record to 48-58, while the Blue Jays fell to 63-44 but retained their first-place position in the division.

The game turned early in the bottom of the second inning when Cedric Mullins hit a two-run homer to right field, scoring Ryan O’Hearn and giving Baltimore a 2-0 lead. Moments later, Coby Mayo added a solo home run to left center, extending the advantage to 3-0. These back-to-back blasts off Toronto starter Chris Bassitt set the tone for the Orioles’ dominant performance.

Toronto responded in the top of the third, tying the game at 3-3 with solo and two-run home runs from Nathan Lukes and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., respectively. Lukes’ shot to right center came with two outs, and Guerrero’s blast to center scored George Springer, who had walked earlier.

The Orioles quickly regained control in the bottom of the third. Adley Rutschman, returning to the lineup, doubled sharply to center, driving in Jordan Westburg and Gunnar Henderson for a 5-3 lead. Ramón Laureano followed with an RBI single to center, scoring Rutschman and pushing the score to 6-3.

In the top of the fourth, the Blue Jays narrowed the gap to 6-4 when Ernie Clement scored on a lineout by Will Wagner. However, Baltimore’s offense exploded again in the bottom of the fifth. Rutschman started the rally, reaching base before O’Hearn doubled sharply to right, scoring him for a 7-4 lead. Laureano then homered to left center, scoring O’Hearn and making it 9-4. Colton Cowser reached base, and after Mullins doubled, Mayo grounded out to score Cowser, capping the four-run inning at 10-4.

The Orioles added their final run in the bottom of the seventh when Cowser homered to center, his ninth of the season and first at Camden Yards since September 20, 2024, finalizing the 11-4 score.

Baltimore’s pitching staff, led by winner Corbin Martin who earned his first victory of the season with a 1-0 record and 1.42 ERA, held Toronto in check after the early homers. Martin pitched 1.2 innings, striking out four without allowing a run. Starter Zach Eflin went 4.1 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits. Relievers Dillon Selby, Adam Wolfram, and Cade Strowd combined for scoreless innings to close out the game.

For the Blue Jays, Bassitt took the loss, dropping to 11-5 with a 4.24 ERA after allowing six runs in 2.1 innings. Toronto’s bullpen struggled, with Braden Little surrendering four runs in just 0.1 innings. Offensively, Bo Bichette led with four hits, and Guerrero contributed two hits including his 15th home run.

Defensively, the Orioles turned two double plays, while Toronto managed one. A notable play came when Blue Jays left fielder Joey Loperfido threw out Westburg at second base, confirmed after review. Mullins also made an amazing catch at the wall to deny Lukes a potential second home run.

The game, played under clear skies with 97-degree temperatures and a light wind from left field, drew 20,176 fans and lasted two hours and 52 minutes. Umpires included Brian Walsh at home plate, Mark Ripperger at first, Nick Mahrley at second, and Vic Carapazza at third.
