The Lathroum Family Tradition of winning continued Friday night at Potomac Speedway as Mechanicsville, Maryland driver Austin Lathroum followed in his Dad Jamies footsteps, not only claiming his first career Limited Late Model victory, but in the process, turning back 2 of the best in the business in Kyle Lear and Kyle Hardy.

Starting second, Lathroum impressively outran Lear to the first turn, along the way surviving a few restarts to keep the Lear and Hardy tandom at bay. “ Tackling one of the Kyles is one thing. But to defeat two of the best in the business is a dream come true for my first career win” stated Lathroum. Lear fended off a race long challenge from Hardy for the runnerup honors with Jeremy Pilkerton and Jonathan Raley completing the top five. Heats went to Lathroum and Pilkerton.

For the second time this season, Chuck Bowie of Welcome, Maryland found his way to victory lane in the 20 lap event for the Crate Late Models. Starting first, Bowie led wire to wire for the victory with Joey Love, Mike Raleigh, Jacob Whitt, and Ben Scott completing the top five. Heats went to Scott and Whitt.

Overcoming a heat race crash earlier in the evening, points leader Mason Hanson, starting 12th, put on a driving display, taking the lead from Mikey Latham late to secure his 4th win of the season in the 15 lap Hobby Stock main. Latham rode home second followed by Connor Cheseldine, Rusty Alton, and Kacey Gordon.

In the 15 lap Strictly Stock main, Nabil Guffey powered by Brandon Crenshaw late in the event in claiming his second win of the season. Following the top 2 across the stripe were Greg Mattingly, Shawn Howsare, and John Hardesty Sr.

In the 15 lap nightcap for the UCar division, Thomas Windsor claimed his first win of the season, becoming the fifth different this season. Windsor topped Keith Brown, Brooke Bowles, Stephen Suite, and Richard Inscoe.
