Our Spotlight on the Arts for September 2025 shines brightly on Naruchol “Jib” Ket and family, and their new Pottery Cafe at Bubble Bzzz!
Jib, originally from Thailand, is a St. Mary’s County resident of over 10 years now. She opened Bubble Bzzz to offer authentic hot and cold beverages including a wide variety of teas and coffee, fruit slushies, Boba tea, and more. Also on the menu is Snow Bingsu (a milk-based Korean shaved ice dessert with toppings), bubble waffles made to order, and delicious house-made pastries and desserts.

As much as she loved the food and beverage aspect, Jib envisioned more for her shop. She dreamed of adding an area where visitors could come with friends or family, or just by themselves, and enjoy an artistic activity.
What were your inspirations for opening a Pottery Cafe?
My inspiration for opening a Pottery Cafe began from my love of art, and my daughters, because we enjoy painting together. We wanted to try something new and offer designs which could be used every day, such as with the mugs and plates.
There is joy of seeing everyday people being creative in their own way. I wanted to create a space where anyone, even with no experience, could relax, have fun, and paint ceramics that they can proudly take home and call their own.
Painting pottery is a calming and creative activity perfect for families and friends.
How long has the Pottery Cafe at Bubble Bzzz in Lexington Park been open?
Bubble Bzzz has been open for about one year and The Pottery Café for about four months now.

Is there a favorite pottery design that has been the most popular?
Some of the most popular ceramic pottery pieces that we offer are our mugs, plates,
and animal ceramics. I personally love the mug because the number of designs you can create are endless, and you will never run out of ideas.
Do you host parties and private group events at the Pottery Cafe?
Yes, we do! We are glad to host parties and private group events at Bubble Bzzz. It is a fun and creative way to celebrate with pottery painting!
What is your favorite part about the business?
My favorite part is seeing the joy on customers’ faces when they finish their pieces and feel proud of what they made. It also makes me happy to see people enjoy the custom drinks and food items that we make at the café. It’s heartwarming to see children and families creating and enjoying time together.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
I would love to invite everyone to give a try for pottery painting, even if you have never done it before. It’s fun and relaxing and the best part is that you get to take home something uniquely yours.
Our drinks and pastries are all made fresh at the cafe and are available to enjoy while you paint, or to take home for later.
What do you enjoy doing outside of your time at the Pottery Cafe?
My kids and I like to go out into nature for activities such as hiking, swimming, running, and gardening. A fun hobby I love is cooking, which has been in my heart for as long as I can remember. Cooking is an amazing way to bring out culture and love in the world.
