WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 2, 2025) — St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s basketball team overwhelmed Gallaudet University 70-48 Monday night at the Field House, using suffocating full-court pressure and a 43-18 halftime lead to improve to 2-2 on the young season.
The Seahawks forced a season-high 33 turnovers, converting those mistakes into 36 points while racing to 21 fast-break points. St. Mary’s held the Bison to just 41.3 percent shooting from the field and a single three-pointer all game.

Senior guard Olivia Liszt poured in a game-high 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting, including three triples, while adding four rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes. Junior Tramarie Mobray stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists in only 23 minutes of action.
The Seahawks’ depth proved decisive. Their bench outscored Gallaudet’s reserves 29-9, led by Samantha Blaylock’s nine points on three three-pointers in 13 minutes off the pine. Halimah Hajhassan led all players with eight rebounds to go with six points, while Rayna Miller contributed five points, five boards and two steals.
St. Mary’s controlled the glass 37-44 despite Gallaudet’s height advantage, grabbing 16 offensive rebounds that produced 10 second-chance points. The Seahawks shot 36 percent overall and hit eight threes as a team.
Gallaudet (0-4) struggled against the pressure all evening. Seanna Baird led the Bison with 14 points and Natalie Greene added 12, but the home team committed 33 turnovers and managed only 22 points in the paint.
The win marked the first of two meetings this week between the programs. St. Mary’s returns home to the Michael P. O’Brien Athletics & Recreation Center in St. Mary’s City for the rematch Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Seahawks will honor their seniors prior to tip-off.
St. Mary’s College, a Division III member of the United East Conference, opened the season with a split at the Susan Dunham Memorial Tournament in Fredericksburg, Virginia, before dropping a road contest at Eastern Mennonite. Monday’s victory gave head coach Crystal Gibson her 92nd win at the helm.
Tickets for Wednesday’s game are available at the door or online through smcathletics.com. The contest will be streamed live on the United East digital network.
