ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Governor Wes Moore and First Lady Dawn Moore will welcome the public to Government House, the official residence of Maryland’s governor, for a special holiday open house on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The three-hour event at 110 State Circle in downtown Annapolis marks the continuation of a long-standing tradition that allows Marylanders to tour the historic 1869 mansion decorated for the season.

“As Dawn and I reflect on this year, one that we know has been tough for so many across our state, we are continually inspired by the incredible heart and resilience shown by all Marylanders,” Governor Moore said in a statement. “Despite the challenges our state faces, we made real progress together. This holiday season, we look forward to celebrating that spirit of partnership with all of you.”

First Lady Dawn Moore added, “We could not be more excited to welcome all Marylanders to join us at Government House or as we affectionately call it, ‘The People’s House.’ This season, what gives me hope is that we have proven that when we come together, there is nothing we can’t achieve.”

All visitors age 16 and older are required to present a valid photo identification for entry. No advance registration is needed; guests may arrive anytime between 9 a.m. and noon.

Government House, often referred to as the “People’s House,” has served as the governor’s residence since 1870 and is one of the oldest continuously occupied executive residences in the nation. The Victorian-era building features period furnishings, Maryland artwork, and holiday decorations throughout the public rooms on the first floor.

Free parking is available in nearby state garages and metered street spaces on a first-come basis. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation or ride-sharing services due to limited parking in the historic district.

The open house is free and open to all Maryland residents and visitors.
