BALTIMORE — Maryland’s sports wagering industry delivered a record $19,012,033 to state coffers in November, the highest single-month contribution since legalized betting launched in December 2021.
Marylanders placed $720.2 million in total wagers during the month, including $707.3 million through mobile platforms and $12.9 million at retail locations. Bettors won back $622.9 million in prizes, giving operators a combined hold of 13.5 percent — the strongest monthly performance on record.
Mobile wagering continued to dominate the market, accounting for more than 98 percent of total handle. After deducting prizes and allowable promotional play, mobile operators generated $93.9 million in taxable win, while retail locations produced $1.5 million.
Under Maryland law, retail operators contribute 15 percent of taxable proceeds directly to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, which supports pre-K through 12 public education. Mobile operators send 15 percent to the Blueprint Fund and an additional 5 percent to the state General Fund.
November breakdowns showed $14.3 million directed to the Blueprint Fund and $4.7 million to the General Fund. Year-to-date contributions for Fiscal Year 2026, covering July through November, now stand at $62.9 million — a 57 percent increase over the $40.1 million collected during the same period in Fiscal Year 2025.
The surge comes amid a full football season and the continued expansion of mobile operators. Maryland currently licenses 12 mobile sportsbooks and eight retail locations, including casinos, off-track betting facilities, and professional sports stadiums.
Since launch in December 2021, the program has generated $224.8 million for the Blueprint Fund, $15.4 million for the General Fund, and $5.1 million in expired prizes directed to the Problem Gambling Fund.

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency regulates sports wagering under legislation passed in 2021 following voter approval of a 2020 referendum.
