The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s basketball team dropped a 72-62 decision to Washington College on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in a non-conference game at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium in Chestertown. The Seahawks mounted a comeback after trailing by 12 points after the first quarter but could not overcome late scoring from the host Shorewomen.
Washington College built a 22-10 advantage in the opening period. St. Mary’s responded in the second quarter, shooting over 50 percent from the field to narrow the gap to 39-30 at halftime. The Seahawks outscored the Shorewomen 16-11 in the third quarter, briefly taking a one-point lead midway through the frame. Entering the fourth quarter down 50-46, St. Mary’s saw Washington College pull away with key three-pointers and strong free-throw shooting in the closing minutes.

Keira Mason paced St. Mary’s with 18 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, adding four assists in 33 minutes. Tramarie Mobray contributed 17 points, hitting two three-pointers on 6-for-field goals and 3-for-free throws in 31 minutes. Olivia Liszt added nine points, all from beyond the arc on three made threes, along with seven rebounds and three assists over 34 minutes. Samantha Blaylock came off the bench for eight points, including two threes, in 25 minutes.
The Seahawks’ bench provided 36 points overall, highlighting rotation depth. Sidney Shaw added seven points and four assists from the reserves. St. Mary’s forced 20 turnovers, converting them into 19 points, and recorded 10 steals. However, Washington College dominated rebounding 40-29 and converted 20 of 28 free throws to seal the victory.
Team statistics showed St. Mary’s shooting 40 percent from the field, 53.3 percent on threes, and 58.8 percent at the line, compared to Washington College’s 41.1 percent field, 37.5 percent threes, and 71.4 percent free throws. The Seahawks committed 17 turnovers against 20 for the Shorewomen.
The Seahawks continue their season at the New York Invitational, facing Mount St. Joseph on Friday, December 19, at 1 p.m., followed by another game on December 20.
