Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment late on Christmas night, December 25, 2025, at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Airport Road in California, St. Mary’s County. Units were alerted at 10:22 p.m. and arrived to find two vehicles involved, including one overturned off the roadway with two occupants trapped inside.

Chief 7 arrived first on scene, confirmed the entrapment, and established command. Rescue Squad 7 stabilized the overturned vehicle and prepared for extrication operations. Rescue Squad 7, assisted by Rescue Engine 92 from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, extricated the two occupants from the rolled vehicle. Both patients were then turned over to emergency medical services personnel for evaluation and transport.

All units operated on scene for approximately one hour before clearing and returning to service. Chief 7 maintained command throughout the incident.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies handled the investigation into the cause of the collision, which involved two vehicles. Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 was requested for one patient with serious injuries, who was flown to University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. The second patient was transported by ground ambulance.
