An Annapolis resident, an avid Keno player, won $32,080 on a Maryland Lottery Keno ticket featuring the Super Bonus option. The player claimed the prize on New Year’s Eve at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The winning ticket was purchased December 28 at Mike’s Bar ‘N’ Crabhouse, located at 3030 Old Riva Road in Riva, Anne Arundel County. The location is a well-known waterfront establishment offering dining and entertainment near the South River area, familiar to many in the Southern Maryland and greater Annapolis region.

The ticket consisted of two 10-spot games with the Super Bonus add-on, for a total cost of $60. In Maryland Keno, players select up to 10 numbers (spots) from one to 80, with drawings occurring every four minutes. A 10-spot game matches against 20 drawn numbers, and prizes scale based on the wager amount and matches achieved. The Super Bonus option, which triples the base wager cost, provides a multiplier of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, or 20 on any winnings, with a guarantee of at least doubling the prize if matched. The maximum prize for a 10-spot game with Super Bonus reaches $2,000,000 per game, though actual payouts depend on the multiplier drawn and the number of matches.

The player described the win as a pleasant development. “That was a nice surprise,” he said during the claim process. He plans to deposit the funds in the bank for investment purposes. He also indicated he intends to keep playing Keno regularly, citing the enjoyment and excitement the game provides.

The retailer that sold the winning ticket, Mike’s Bar ‘N’ Crabhouse, will receive a bonus of $320.80, representing 1% of the prize amount as per Maryland Lottery retailer incentive rules.

Maryland Keno allows wagers from $1 to $20 per game, with options to play multiple consecutive draws. Adding the Bonus doubles the cost and offers up to 10 times the winnings, while Super Bonus triples the cost for potential 20-times multiplication. These features explain how a $60 investment across two games yielded this prize level when the selected numbers aligned with the draw results and a favorable multiplier applied.

The win occurred during a strong period for Maryland Lottery players closing out 2025, with the week of December 22-28 producing nearly $30.2 million in total prizes statewide and 27 tickets worth $10,000 or more.

Prizes of $600 or less can be claimed at retailers, while larger amounts require a visit to claim centers or headquarters. All prizes must be claimed within 182 days of the draw date, and winnings are subject to state, local, and federal taxes.

The Maryland Lottery supports responsible play, with resources available for those seeking information on gaming habits. This recent claim highlights how local purchases at community spots like Mike’s Bar ‘N’ Crabhouse can lead to substantial returns for players who enjoy the quick-paced nature of Keno.
