The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s basketball team earned a 59-42 United East Conference victory over Rosemont College on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at home in St. Mary’s City. The Seahawks improved to 7-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play, while the Ravens fell to 2-13 and 1-6 in the UEC.
St. Mary’s College overcame an early 2-0 deficit with a 22-10 run spanning the next 12 minutes of the first half, building a 10-point advantage with 4:38 remaining before halftime. The Seahawks led 22-17 at the break after a 5-0 closing push fueled by back-to-back buckets from Brandon Moore. In the second half, St. Mary’s shot a season-best 63.6 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes. Rosemont narrowed a 12-point gap to 33-30 with 12:46 left as Moore scored nine points during the rally. A 9-2 Seahawk run, sparked by five straight points from first-year forward Tristan Thompson, restored a double-digit lead that held for the game’s final 6:53. Korey Blair’s three-pointer at the 3:30 mark extended the margin to 56-34, the largest of the night.

St. Mary’s converted 17 Rosemont turnovers into 24 points. The Seahawks posted their second-highest three-point percentage of the season at .389 (7-of-18) and matched their second-best assist total with 19. Defensively, they held the Ravens to 35.0 percent shooting overall and limited them to 31 rebounds compared to 26 for Rosemont.
Korey Blair, a first-year guard from Baltimore, led St. Mary’s with 16 points on 6-of-field-goal shooting, including three three-pointers, while adding a career-high four assists, one block, and one steal in 32 minutes. First-year guard Khairi Hyde from Gaithersburg contributed 11 points, a career-high eight assists, four steals, and two rebounds in 33 minutes. Senior captain Jake Koverman from Severna Park scored 10 points with two three-pointers, four rebounds, and one assist in 30 minutes. Tristan Thompson and senior captain JD Salo from Dunkirk each secured a team-high six rebounds.
For Rosemont, Brandon Moore scored a game-high 17 points in the Ravens’ fifth consecutive loss.
The performance marked a rebound for St. Mary’s after recent conference setbacks, with strong contributions from multiple players and improved shooting efficiency. The victory strengthens the Seahawks’ position in the United East Conference standings midway through the season.
St. Mary’s next travels to face Penn College (3-15, 2-5 UEC) on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at 4 p.m. in Williamsport, Pa., at Bardo Gymnasium.
