The shooting occurred August 17, 2025, at a residence in the 1600 block of Fullerton Road in Edgewater, Anne Arundel County, with the victim’s body discovered the next day in Baltimore.
Baltimore Police officers responded August 18, 2025, around 11:30 a.m. to a wooded area in south Baltimore where they found Marroquin Caceros suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Medics pronounced him deceased on scene. An autopsy confirmed homicide as the manner of death.
Baltimore Police Homicide Unit investigators identified Cazares, known to the victim, as a suspect through investigative means. Detectives linked the case to the Fullerton Road address in Edgewater after determining the victim and suspect were together there on August 17.
