Prior to tipoff, the Seahawks honored three seniors for their contributions: team captains Jake Koverman (Severna Park, Md./Southern) and JD Salo (Dunkirk, Md./Northern), along with student assistant Jahsiah Lamothe (Baltimore, Md./BPI).

Keystone took its only lead of the game at 8-7 with a 6-0 run early in the first half. First-year forward Evan Quintero responded immediately with a layup to regain the advantage for St. Mary’s at 9-8. The Giants closed within four points at 19-15 midway through the period, but the Seahawks countered with a 9-3 run to lead 28-18 and took a 31-23 halftime edge.

In the second half, Keystone narrowed the gap to 33-31 with an 8-2 start fueled by Jden Golding. Back-to-back three-pointers from Quintero and Koverman pushed the lead back to 10 points. The Giants pulled within two at 46-44 on a layup by Jeramiah Maxwell-Lawus with 8:03 remaining. Sophomore James Crimaudo then scored 10 consecutive points for St. Mary’s, including back-to-back three-pointers, to create separation. The Seahawks’ largest lead reached 65-51 with 44 seconds left on a layup by Salo.

Crimaudo led all scorers with 17 points on 4-of-field goals, including 3-of- three-pointers, and 6-of-6 free throws. Koverman added 11 points on 3-of- three-pointers, seven rebounds, and three assists. Quintero contributed 10 points off the bench with six rebounds. Salo recorded nine points and a season-high 12 rebounds. The Seahawks shot 37.7 percent from the field, made nine three-pointers for a .346 percentage—fourth-best this season—and converted 18-of-21 free throws for .857 accuracy, second-highest of the year. St. Mary’s held a 45-38 rebounding advantage.

Keystone was led by Ahmodrion Jones with 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Golding finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. The Giants shot 29.2 percent from the field and 15.4 percent from three-point range.

The victory highlighted St. Mary’s ability to respond to runs, maintain composure, and capitalize on perimeter shooting and interior presence. The program’s location in historic St. Mary’s City continues to support a competitive presence in the United East Conference, where the Seahawks have shown resilience in league matchups despite an overall record near .500.

St. Mary’s returns to action on Monday, February 2, hosting Penn State Harrisburg at 5 p.m. in a Gold Rush-themed game. The Seahawks then travel to face Notre Dame (Md.) on February 4 at 5 p.m. and Valley Forge on February 7 at 1 p.m.

This win adds to the Seahawks’ momentum in conference play, emphasizing defensive rebounding, free-throw execution, and timely outside shooting to overcome challenges from opponents.
