The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners presented citations to two retiring employees of the Calvert County Detention Center in recognition of their long-term public service, as announced by Calvert County Government.
Lt. Philip L. Bradford received a citation for his 32 years of service in corrections. He began his career on Jan. 24, 1994, and retired on Jan. 29, 2026. Known for integrity and professionalism, Lt. Bradford earned respect from colleagues and demonstrated strong commitment to public safety. Since 2014, he supervised a unit and commanded both corrections divisions. Under his leadership, the bureau maintained more than 12 years of 100-percent compliance with Maryland Commission of Correctional Standards requirements. His efforts strengthened operations in the security division, central processing, and inmate transport.
Jesse Timothy “Tim” Evans also received a citation for more than 12 years of service. He joined the county in 2013 as a maintenance mechanic and played a key role in facility operations at the detention center. His work ensured safety and functionality through hands-on maintenance, staff mentoring, ownership of operations, and contributions to welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair projects.
The announcements highlight the value placed on dedicated service in Calvert County’s corrections and maintenance roles. The Board of County Commissioners extended congratulations to both retirees and wished them healthy, fulfilling retirements. Public invitations encouraged community members to join in celebrating their careers.
