Maryland’s six casinos generated $147,877,520 in slot machine and table game revenue during January 2026, a drop of $3,918,140 or 2.6 percent from January 2025, according to data from the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. A winter storm that disrupted travel for several days in late January contributed to the decline.

The casinos contributed $63,932,961 to the state in January 2026, up $281,927 or 0.4 percent from the prior year. This included $46,101,513 directed to the Education Trust Fund, an increase of $17,663 or 0.2 percent compared to January 2025.

For the first seven months of Fiscal Year 2026, covering July 2025 through January 2026, total casino gaming revenue reached $1,115,947,377, down 1.9 percent from the same period in Fiscal Year 2025. State contributions during this timeframe totaled $479,522,250, a decrease of 1.2 percent year-over-year.

These revenues fund multiple priorities beyond education, including support for communities and jurisdictions hosting the casinos, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.

Maryland operates six privately owned casinos with both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live!
