The United East Conference announced March 10 that Ganjbaksh, from Potomac, Md., and Winston Churchill High School, received women’s tennis Player of the Week for the second time in her career. She dropped only four games across two matches as the Seahawks secured victories over York College of Pennsylvania (5-2 on March 1) and Goucher College (4-3 on March 7). In the York win, Ganjbaksh and partner Sarah Levit fell 6-2 at No. 1 doubles but she dominated singles with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Bri Serruto at No. 1. Against Goucher, the pair blanked Natalia Navarro and Meline Siggen at No. 1 doubles, followed by Ganjbaksh’s 6-0, 6-2 singles win over Navarro.
This marks her second award after Sept. 23, 2025. The women’s team stands 2-1 and heads to the PTR Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head, S.C., March 16-19.
On the men’s tennis side, Cron, a 6-0 first-year from Ardmore, Pa., and Haverford High School, earned his first career Player of the Week honor March 10. He delivered two wins in the Seahawks’ 6-1 victory over York on March 1, teaming with Max Esztergomi for a 6-3 No. 2 doubles triumph over Ian Bartles and Drew Heinzelmann, then prevailing 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles over Jason Lutz. In a 7-0 loss to Goucher on March 7, Cron took the most games with a 4-6, 1-6 effort at No. 3 singles against Benedikt Rummel.
The men’s team is 1-3 and also competes at the PTR Spring Tennis Fest March 16-19.

In a 5-4 loss to Catholic University on March 4, he scored twice with an assist and one ground ball. He then exploded for a career-high five goals and one ground ball in a 20-5 rout of SUNY Maritime on March 7. McKay leads the conference with 20 goals, ties for second with 26 points, and ranks tied for sixth with six assists.

Against Catholic, he posted career highs of six ground balls and four caused turnovers. Versus Maritime, he led with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Martin ranks second in the league with 12 caused turnovers.
The Seahawks, 4-2 overall, host Randolph-Macon College (5-2) in non-conference action March 11 at 7 p.m. at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
These recognitions highlight strong individual performances from St. Mary’s College athletes in the United East Conference, with Ganjbaksh and Cron excelling in tennis doubles and singles, and McKay and Martin driving offensive firepower and defensive solidity in lacrosse.
