The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. when multiple suspects approached a resident walking in the area of Promenade Place. The suspects displayed a firearm and demanded the victim’s jacket, shoes, and cell phone. The victim complied, and the group fled in a vehicle.

Officers remained on scene and observed the suspects’ vehicle drive past. They initiated a traffic stop at a nearby business, where four individuals were found inside the car. Stolen property belonging to the victim was visible in the vehicle.
All four suspects were taken into custody. One was a 15-year-old in possession of a loaded firearm without a serial number. Another was a 17-year-old carrying a loaded firearm. The remaining suspects included a second 17-year-old and 18-year-old Asomani Hasan Savage-El, of Waldorf.
Savage-El and the two 17-year-old suspects were charged as adults and are being held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center. The 15-year-old was transported to a juvenile facility.
The investigation remains ongoing, with no additional details released on specific charges beyond the initial arrests or potential connections to other incidents.
Promenade Place, located in a residential area of Waldorf in Charles County, has seen prior juvenile-related incidents, including strong-armed robberies and assaults near similar addresses in previous years, though no direct links to this case have been confirmed.
Charles County authorities emphasized swift patrol response in apprehending the suspects and recovering the victim’s items, highlighting the role of observant officers in resolving the crime quickly after it occurred.
The event underscores ongoing concerns about youth involvement in armed incidents in the Waldorf community, where sheriff’s office patrols continue to address such reports.
No injuries were reported during the robbery or arrest.
