St. Mary’s College of Maryland baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Marymount University 22-6 on Wednesday evening March 25 2026 at Capital One Park in Tysons Virginia.
The Seahawks fell to 7-9 overall while Marymount improved to 11-6. Marymount scored in each of the first six innings and collected 17 hits in the victory.

Marymount jumped ahead with four runs in the first inning including a two-run home run from Seth Sadler. St. Mary’s responded in the second inning with four runs to tie the score at 4-4. Will Wilson drove in a run with a double and Kody Adkins and Eli Shafer added RBI singles. DJ Sifford stole home to complete the tying rally.
Marymount regained the lead with five runs in the bottom of the second to go ahead 9-4 and never trailed again. The Saints added two runs in the third and five more in the fourth to extend the margin to 16-5. Marymount continued with five runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.
St. Mary’s added single runs in the third and fifth innings. DJ Sifford delivered an RBI sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Wilson Shafer and Adkins each recorded one hit and one RBI to pace the Seahawks offense. Rhett Fletcher and Connor Wilkerson each scored a run for St. Mary’s.
Cam Gill took the loss in relief to fall to 1-2. Noah Gross started for the Seahawks and several pitchers worked the later innings.
Seth Sadler led Marymount with four RBIs while Evan Schick contributed a five-run performance in the Saints’ offensive outburst.
St. Mary’s College of Maryland returns to action this weekend hosting No. 16 Christopher Newport University on Saturday March 28 2026 at 2 p.m. at the SMCM baseball field in St. Mary’s City. The Seahawks and Captains will play a doubleheader on Sunday March 29.
The Seahawks compete in the United East Conference while continuing a challenging non-conference schedule against regionally strong programs. Capital One Park served as the neutral site for the midweek contest rescheduled from an earlier date.
