WHITE PLAINS, Md. — Detectives with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a homicide after a 19-year-old man was fatally shot early Wednesday morning during a dispute on Enid Blyton Place in White Plains.

Officers responded to the area around 2:54 a.m. on April 1 following reports of gunshots. A preliminary investigation determined that a group of individuals became involved in a dispute, during which multiple shots were fired. One person was struck by gunfire.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. He was identified as Tyon Makai Bias, 19, of White Plains.

Several nearby homes were struck by bullets during the incident, but no one inside the residences was injured.
