PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter in Calvert County launched an Easter-themed adoption event Wednesday called “Find Some Bunny to Love,” offering potential discounts on adoption fees through April 8.
The promotion runs from Wednesday, April 1, through Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Adopters can select a decorated egg that reveals a surprise discount applicable to any adoptable animal at the shelter.

The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter, an open-admission facility, encourages both experienced pet owners and first-time adopters to visit during the event. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shelter is closed Sundays and open Mondays only for reclaim and surrender services.
The facility is located at 5055 Hallowing Point Road in Prince Frederick. For details on the adoption process and current available animals, visitors can check the official site at www.CalvertCountyAnimalShelter.com. Intake appointments can be scheduled by calling 410-535-7387.
Calvert County officials said the event aims to help more animals find permanent homes while making the process enjoyable for families in Southern Maryland. Surprise discounts add an element of fun to the standard adoption fees, which normally help cover services such as spaying or neutering, vaccinations and microchipping.
Southern Maryland residents looking to add a pet this spring have an opportunity to meet dogs, cats and small animals at the shelter. The event coincides with the Easter holiday, providing a timely chance for households to welcome a new companion.
The shelter maintains active social media presence to showcase adoptable pets. Follow updates on Instagram at @calvertcountyanimalshelter and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CalvertCountyAnimalShelter.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by Calvert County to promote responsible pet adoption and reduce shelter populations through community engagement. Past seasonal promotions have successfully placed animals into loving homes across the region.
Potential adopters are reminded to prepare for the responsibilities of pet ownership, including providing proper care, training and veterinary attention. Shelter staff assist with matching animals to suitable families based on lifestyle and needs.
As the week progresses, interested residents in Prince Frederick and surrounding Southern Maryland communities can stop by during open hours to participate in the egg selection and meet available pets. No advance registration is required for the discount promotion.
The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter continues to serve Calvert County by accepting surrendered animals, reuniting lost pets with owners and facilitating adoptions year-round.
