BOWIE- The Chesapeake Baysox earned their first walk-off win of the 2026 season with a 2-1 victory over the Erie SeaWolves on April 9 at Prince George’s Stadium.
Aron Estrada delivered both of the Baysox RBIs including the game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning that scored Brandon Butterworth. The win improved Chesapeake to 3-3 and came one day after the team dropped a 13-8 decision to the same opponent in which it blew an early lead.
The Baysox fell behind 1-0 in the second inning on an RBI groundout by Erie’s Seth Stephenson. Right-hander Evan Yates made a strong Double-A debut allowing just that one run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts over four and a third innings.

Chesapeake tied the score in the fifth. Singles by Frederick Benscome and Fernando Peguero preceded a walk to Butterworth that loaded the bases. Estrada then delivered a game-tying RBI single scoring Benscome.
The bullpen kept the game even. Carlos Tavera and Zane Barnhart combined for three scoreless relief innings allowing just two hits. Jeisson Cabrera earned the win in the ninth working through a one-out runner at third base. The SeaWolves finished 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
In the bottom of the ninth Butterworth reached second on a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base against former Baysox pitcher Wandisson Charles who took the loss. Estrada lined the walk-off single to score Butterworth and send the early education day crowd home happy.
