The acquisition marks one of the largest automotive retail transactions in the Baltimore-Washington D.C.-Richmond corridor in recent years. It is more than six times the size of any prior deal completed by Brandon Steven Motors. The move combines two nationally recognized Top 100 dealership groups and establishes a coast-to-coast platform for the buyer.

Brandon Steven Motors previously operated 21 dealerships in Kansas and Los Angeles. The addition brings the total to more than 30 locations across three states. The parent company Steven Enterprises now expects employment to exceed 12,000 people with projected annual unit sales of approximately 45,000 vehicles.

James Mitchell executive vice president at CBRE described the portfolio as one of the most comprehensive auto retail networks in Southern Maryland. He noted its concentration of key brands and geographic coverage created a rare opportunity for a buyer seeking immediate scale within the corridor.

Brandon Steven said the transaction was not one the company was actively pursuing but opportunities of this caliber are rare. He highlighted the scale brand mix and market position as key factors. Steven added that complete alignment in values taking care of customers supporting employees and operating with integrity made the decision clear. He called the acquisition a transformational move that strengthens long-term growth strategy and creates meaningful opportunities for teams across the country.

Operations continue uninterrupted with existing leadership teams remaining in place. The seamless transition supports ongoing service for customers in Southern Maryland communities.

For residents in Calvert Charles and St. Mary’s counties the deal affects local automotive retail options. The dealerships serve a region with high demand for new and used vehicles along major routes including U.S. Route 301 and Maryland Route 5. Southern Maryland drivers benefit from continued access to popular brands and service departments under new ownership while the larger platform may bring expanded inventory and resources.

The transaction reflects broader trends in automotive retail consolidation where larger groups seek geographic expansion and brand diversity. Southern Maryland’s strategic location between major metropolitan areas makes it attractive for such investments. Local economic impacts include sustained jobs at the dealerships and continued tax contributions from sales and operations in the three counties.

This acquisition positions Brandon Steven Motors for further growth while maintaining focus on customer service and employee support. Details of the deal were confirmed through the official announcement from CBRE and statements provided by the parties involved.
