Maryland is joining the nationwide celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week May 3–9, 2026, highlighting the travel industry’s role in the U.S. economy.
The Maryland Tourism Coalition and partners planned a series of events to spotlight the state’s attractions and economic impact. A centerpiece is the 5th annual “Maryland in a Day” on Tuesday, May 5.
Tourism personality Chris Riehl, owner of Rent-A-Tour Baltimore, D.C., will journey from Southern Maryland to Baltimore City, visiting historic sites that shaped the nation. The live social media event begins at 9 a.m. and ends at the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House.

Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.
The event builds on previous years and ties into broader NTTW activities, including community service days and industry gatherings. Tourism leaders emphasize the sector’s contributions to jobs, tax revenue and infrastructure funding across Maryland.
