American Flat Track is returning to Maryland after more than a decade as the centerpiece of ThrottleFest, a four-day motorsports festival at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville.
The event runs Thursday, May 14 through Sunday, May 17. Round 6 of the 2026 Progressive American Flat Track season headlines the weekend with high-speed night racing under the lights on Saturday, May 16 at the Budds Creek Half-Mile.
Organizers have built ThrottleFest as more than a single race night. The festival stacks professional flat track racing with amateur flat track, motocross, pit bike racing, endurocross, hare scrambles, STACYC and RC racing. Additional attractions include food trucks, vendors, live music, camping and fan contests spread across the Budds Creek grounds.
Budds Creek, located at 27963 Budds Creek Road, is already a recognized destination for motocross fans. The addition of a dedicated Budds Creek Half-Mile creates a distinct professional flat track moment for the Mid-Atlantic region. Saturday night’s program offers opening ceremonies, pro-class racing, rider introductions, fan walk and pit access opportunities, and victory podium moments.
The full weekend schedule provides plenty of activities for families and fans:
