Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported drive-by shooting shortly before 11 p.m. on May 3 at a residence in the 11400 block of H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby.
Upon arrival, deputies found shell casings in the roadway and damage to the exterior of the home. Three people were inside at the time: a 24-year-old male, a 26-year-old female and a 3-year-old child. No injuries were reported.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau took over the case. A preliminary investigation quickly identified three Waldorf residents as suspects in the drive-by shooting: Krystal Marie Davis, 23; Damar Malik Abney, 23; and Takwon Demarion Mason, 21. All three were taken into custody with assistance from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Further investigation revealed that an occupant of the Lusby residence pursued the suspects and fired shots at them while they were traveling on MD Rt. 231 prior to the Benedict Bridge in Prince Frederick. No injuries were reported in the second incident. Detectives identified Quentin Antoine Harley Jr., 24, of Lusby, as the suspect in that shooting. He was arrested by Calvert County deputies.
All four suspects — Davis, Abney, Mason and Harley — now face identical charges: three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime.
The arrests highlight the close cooperation between Calvert and Charles County law enforcement agencies in addressing violent crime that crosses county lines. Lusby, a growing community in northern Calvert County along the Chesapeake Bay, is connected to Prince Frederick by MD Rt. 231 and the Benedict Bridge, a major route used daily by residents traveling between Calvert and St. Mary’s counties.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective W. McDowell at Wyatt.McDowell@calvertcountymd.gov. Anonymous tips can be submitted by emailing CCSOtips@calvertcountymd.gov or through the Sheriff’s Office app at https://apps.myocv.com/share/a39520678.
Calvert County Public Schools and local families have expressed concern over recent gun-related incidents in the area. The quick response by deputies and the cross-county collaboration prevented injuries in this case, but the charges underscore the serious nature of the alleged crimes.
The suspects are being held at the Calvert County Detention Center. Court appearances are pending.
