ERIE, Pa. — The Chesapeake Baysox dropped the final game of their series against the Erie SeaWolves 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at UPMC Park.

The Baysox (20-30) scored first with two runs in the second inning on a no-doubt, two-run home run from Tavian Josenberger. The outfielder blasted a 412-foot shot to right-center field following a one-out walk to Frederick Bencosme. It was Josenberger’s fourth home run of the season. He finished the day with two of Chesapeake’s four hits, including a double.

Erie cut the deficit in half with a solo home run by Chris Meyers in the second. The SeaWolves tied the game in the third on a sacrifice fly by Thayron Liranzo after two walks and a double steal. Erie took the lead in the fourth with a go-ahead RBI single from Peyton Graham and a run-scoring groundout.

Right-hander Juaron Watts-Brown (L, 0-3) took the loss for Chesapeake. He allowed four runs over four innings. Left-hander Juan Rojas followed with two strong scoreless innings of relief, extending his recent scoreless streak.

The SeaWolves added an insurance run in the seventh when Meyers tripled home a run as part of a three-hit day. Right-hander Duque Hebbert (W, 1-1) earned the win with two and one-third scoreless innings in relief, and Mosies Rodriguez closed out the game with a save.

Aron Estrada extended his hitting streak to five games with a fifth-inning single.

The Baysox split the short series with Erie. Chesapeake now returns home to Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie for a six-game series against the Akron RubberDucks, the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The series opener is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:35 p.m.
