MINNEAPOLIS — Gerber has selected Cameron Chung from Minnesota as the 2026 Gerber Baby following a national photo search that received thousands of entries.
The winning image shows Cameron’s first intentional smile after a family walk on a cold winter day in Minnesota. The photo was submitted by his parents, Rachael Olsen and Alden Chung, who described it as a turning point during a challenging period of early parenthood.
Olsen said navigating a colicky newborn and a difficult postpartum experience was tough, a reality many parents share quietly. She noted that seeing Cameron’s first true smile erased the exhaustion of those early months and reminded the family that his joy made every challenge worthwhile.

Chung said having Cameron named the 2026 Gerber Baby is a dream come true. He expressed excitement about sharing his son’s smile with the world and reminding families that joy exists in the everyday moments of parenthood.
As the 2026 Gerber Baby, Cameron and his parents will appear on the brand’s social media channels and in marketing campaigns throughout the year. The family will receive $50,000 along with Gerber branded baby clothes valued at $2,000.
Gerber, a leader in early childhood nutrition for nearly 100 years, said the photo search this year focused on the parents behind the babies who make ordinary moments special. Oscar Benítez, president of Gerber, stated that the brand has supported generations of families through the realities of raising children and believes those moments deserve recognition. He said Cameron’s story highlights the unglamorous yet beautiful work of parenting and that a baby’s pure joy is the ultimate reward even in imperfect moments.
The contest invited entries celebrating the messy and magical aspects of parenthood. Cameron’s photo stood out for reflecting the unseen dedication of early parenting years.
