BALTIMORE — Maryland’s sports wagering market generated $9,899,004 in state contributions during May 2026.

Bettors wagered a total handle of $535,415,353, including promotional play, and received $469,641,733 in prizes. Operators retained a hold of 12.3 percent, or $65,773,621.

Of the May contributions, $7,447,061 went to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, which supports public education initiatives. An additional $2,451,943 from mobile operations was directed to the state’s General Fund.

Through the first 11 months of fiscal year 2026, sports wagering has contributed $124,695,286 to the state. Since the program began with retail sportsbooks in December 2021 and mobile betting in November 2022, cumulative contributions have reached $271,357,915 to the Blueprint Fund, $30,714,103 to the General Fund, and $5,584,651 in expired prizes to the Problem Gambling Fund.

Retail operators contributed 15 percent of taxable proceeds to the Blueprint Fund. Mobile operators contributed 15 percent to the Blueprint Fund and 5 percent to the General Fund.
