ODENTON — Anne Arundel County police responded to a fatal crash involving two vehicles on Piney Orchard Parkway near Ransom Drive on June 15, 2026, at approximately 3:25 p.m.

The preliminary investigation found that a 2013 Lexus RX350 was traveling southbound when the operator failed to negotiate a curve and entered the northbound travel lane. The Lexus then collided head-on with a 2020 Hyundai Tucson traveling northbound.

The passenger of the Hyundai Tucson, Amelia Knuckey, 85, of Odenton, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Lexus, a 62-year-old female from Odenton, and the driver of the Hyundai Tucson, an 85-year-old male from Odenton, were both transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.

Head-on collisions on curved roadways can result from a variety of factors, including speed, road conditions or driver distraction. Authorities continue to examine all circumstances surrounding this incident.

Local residents traveling Piney Orchard Parkway and similar roadways in the Odenton area are reminded to negotiate curves at safe speeds, stay in their lane and remain alert for changing road conditions.
