LA PLATA — Charles County Public Schools has named Jennifer Pangborn as the new principal of Billingsley Elementary School and Andrew Lardell as the new assistant principal of J.P. Ryon Elementary School. Both appointments take effect July 1.

Pangborn currently serves as chief academic officer at Tapestry Charter School in Buffalo, New York. She previously served as principal of the same school for five years. Before her administrative roles, Pangborn taught at several schools in New York and spent time teaching with Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland.

She was initially appointed to an assistant principal role within CCPS for the coming school year.

Pangborn will replace longtime Billingsley Principal Sabrina Robinson-Taylor, who is retiring at the end of the current school year after a career that included principal positions at Billingsley, Walter J. Mitchell, Arthur Middleton and T.C. Martin elementary schools, as well as several years as an assistant principal.

Andrew Lardell, currently an assistant principal at Maury Elementary School with District of Columbia Public Schools, has been appointed assistant principal at J.P. Ryon Elementary School. Before joining DCPS, Lardell taught at the elementary level with Anne Arundel County and Montgomery County public schools.

Information about additional administrative appointments effective July 1 is available on the CCPS website at www.ccboe.com.

Southern Maryland families with children at Billingsley or J.P. Ryon elementary schools can expect leadership transitions that bring new perspectives while building on established school communities.

Residents interested in learning more about CCPS leadership or school-specific updates are encouraged to visit the district website or contact their child’s school.
