More than 25 Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) students earned their Maryland high school diplomas this summer, and the school system honored them with a commencement ceremony at Thomas Stone High School on July 31.
The students, joined by friends, family and staff from their respective high schools, completed their diploma requirements through summer school before walking across the stage together.
Corey Dobbins, principal of alternative programs at the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center, addressed the graduates during the ceremony, encouraging them not to compare their own journeys to anyone else’s. Cameren Marshall, a member of the Class of 2026, echoed that message, reminding fellow graduates that they had the power to write their own stories and shouldn’t let others’ doubts stand in the way of their goals.
The Class of 2026 graduates who earned their diplomas through summer school are:

St. Charles High School
Samuel Chicas Chavez, Joshua Ellison, Steven Flores Uceda, Zakiiyah Murray-Young, Wayne Proctor, Brandon Robinson, Sean Tabala and Audrey Wyche.
Thomas Stone High School
Israel Bedney Jr., Ja’Niyah Davis, Anthony Hagan, Cameren Marshall, and Jeffrey Pineda-Urias.
