Anne Arundel County police have arrested a 26-year-old Annapolis man in connection with a Sept. 19 stabbing that left another man hospitalized, according to the department’s Southern District.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Epping Forest Road in Annapolis at approximately 9:05 p.m. on Sept. 19 for a reported stabbing. On arrival, they located an adult male victim who said he had been in a vehicle with another man when that man stabbed him. The suspect fled on foot, and the victim ran to a nearby residence for help. He was transported to an area trauma center and is in stable condition. Police said preliminary information indicated the victim and suspect were known to each other; Eye On Annapolis reported the two are relatives.
Southern District detectives identified the suspect on Sept. 21 and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. Detectives took the suspect, identified as Carlos Daniel Mancia Pleitez, of Annapolis, into custody the following day, Sept. 22, at approximately 3 p.m. in the area of Forest Drive and Solomons Island Road.
