Loki Boy wants a family, a back seat and a toy that can survive him.

The 6-year-old Lab mix is up for adoption through the Charles County Animal Care Center, which is looking for a home where “the humans are fully grown,” according to the shelter’s adoption post. Loki doesn’t like sharing his toys with small children.

Road trips and other dogs

Shelter staff say Loki loves car rides, does well in his crate and enjoys spending time with other dogs. He sees cats as potential playmates, but staff say he backs off when a cat tells him to.

He is also a serious toy enthusiast. The shelter recommends skipping the soft, dainty ones in favor of anything “built like a tank,” because Loki tends to turn toys into confetti.

Staff say he will do best with a patient adopter who can give him structure, guidance and plenty of encouragement. A volunteer who has spent time with him in a home described Loki on the shelter’s page as “so easy going in a home setting.”

How to meet him

Loki is living with a foster family, so a meet-and-greet must be scheduled. Call the Charles County Animal Care Center at 301-932-1713 or email animalshelter@charlescountymd.gov.

The shelter regularly looks for homes and rescue partners for its dogs. Earlier this year, the Chronicle featured its search for a rescue partner for Cardi.
