At approximately 8:30 p.m., units from Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding areas were alerted to the 38600 block of Army Navy Drive in the Wicomico Shores neighborhood for a reported structure fire. Engines 21, 23, 24, Squad 2, Chiefs 2 and 2B responded with 22 volunteers at dispatch. While en-route, Fire Board advised Chief 2 they were receiving multiple calls now reporting a shed fire.

Chief 2 arrived on the scene and advised he had a shed to the rear of the house fully involved and established Command. Units from Mechanicsville VFD arrived and started fire attack. Command held the units from Mechanicsville, Newburg and Seventh District, placing all other units in service.

The Maryland State Fire Marshall’s Office responded to the scene and is handling the cause and origin investigation. No injuries occurred as a result of this fire.
