The occupant awoke to find smoke in the motorhome.  The occupant went outside to investigate and observed fire coming from the exterior access panel for the refrigerator. 

The fire quickly spread throughout the vehicle before it could be extinguished. The La Plata Volunteer Fire Department responded with approximately 19 personnel and the fire was under control in 10 minutes.

The estimated damage is $100,000.00. There were no injuries or deaths as a result of this incident.
