Redskins Park- Ian Rapoport, of the NFL Network, has reported the Washington Redskins have signed four time All Pro Running Back Adrian Peterson.
News broke Sunday afternoon the Redskins were to have three veterans, Peterson,Jamaal Charles, and Orleans Darkwa, visit with the team Monday. The Redskins found themselves on the short end of the running back stick with injuries to Derrius Guice, Samaje Perine and Byron Marshall.
“We’ve had very unlucky situations with our running backs,” Coach Jay Gruden said,” If something else happens, we are going to be really, really, really thin. We want to make sure we’re covering all our base right now.”
Peterson is 33 years old and averaged 3.4 yards per carry last year with the Cardinals. ” There’s no doubt that Adrian still has some juice in the tank, particularly from a run-skill standpoint,” Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim noted in February,” He still runs with a lot of anger and aggressiveness, and has the type of contact balance you look for in that position.”
More information to come when released by the Washington Redskins.
