Port Tobacco, MD Oct. 15, 2018- Maryland State Police are investigating a rear-end collision that left a Waldorf teen dead and several other injured. On Sunday afternoon, a group of five people pulled out of a driveway (Chevrolet Cruze) on Burch Road in Port Tobacco, MD, and were rear-ended by a 2015 Nissan Rogue that had attempted to pass them. 

The collision resulted in a fire to the Cruze, and all five occupants of the vehicle, along with the driver of the Rogue to be hospitalized. One was transported by US Park Police Helicopter.

A teenage victim was transported to Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD where she later died. The Southern Maryland Chronicle will not print her name until it receives an official release for the Maryland State Police. 

The collision is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. J. Zimmerman of the Maryland State Police CRASH team at 301-392-1231.
