Richmond, Va. – Sophomore Brenna Litynski (Hollywood, Md./Home-schooled) picked up another win on Saturday on the final day of the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College. The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s swim team claimed fifth with 1034 points ahead of former Capital Athletic Conference foe, Marymount (Va.) University (551 pts.), and behind Barton College (1125 pts.).

How It Happened

  • Litynski captured the 200 freestyle in 1:56.66 while taking second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.39.
  • Senior captain Hailley Baughman (Lineboro, Md./Manchester Valley) finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.53 while first-year Rileigh Krell (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) came in second in the 200 backstroke in 2:09.45.
  • Krell added a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.92 as well while sophomore Anna LaPoint (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) posted a third-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle in 18:23.03.
  • Baughman also picked up a third-place finish in the 200 breaststroke in 2:28.24 while first-year Bailey Edgren (Canton, Conn./Canton) placed sixth in 2:32.49.
  • The foursome of KrellBaughman, junior Carolyn Sutton (Laurel, Md./Laurel), and Litynski joined to notch a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:52.18.
  • SuttonLaPoint, first-year Leila McCloskey (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown), and Litynski posted a fourth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:42.82.
  • LaPoint collected a sixth-place finish in the 400 individual medley in 4:53.11 while Sutton led the Seahawks with her sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.54 followed by Krell in eighth in 1:01.95.
  • The quartet of LaPointSutton, junior Holly Smith (Calne, England/Skyline [Wash.]), and Edgren tallied a sixth-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay in 8:20.45.
  • Junior Becca Sonnenberg (Derwood, Md./Magruder) registered a podium finish with her seventh-place finish in the 200 butterfly in 2:23.02.
