Waldorf, MD- On December 8, 2018 a 91-1- cal was placed for a fire in the basement at a residence on Acton Lane in Waldorf.

Units from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department arrived with seventy-five personal and discovered a fire in a basement bedroom. The fire was under control in fifteen minutes. 

As a result the homeowners and renters were displaced and are being assisted by family and friends.

 The Office of the State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate and the preliminary cause is “improperly discarded smoking materials originating from a basement bedroom“. The loss of structure is listed as $150,000.00 and $50,000.00 in contents. 

One firefighter was treated for a medical emergency and released.
