The St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission is reporting a wastewater effluent bypass at the Marlay-Taylor Water Reclamation Facility, located at 48020 Pine Hill Run Road, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
The bypass of approximately 80,000 gallons of fully-treated wastewater effluent occurred on February 20, 2019 and was a result of an area-wide power outage.
As a precaution, public contact to the waters of Pine Hill Run should be avoided for ten (10) days. For additional information, please contact the St. Mary’s County Metropolitan Commission at (301) 373-5305.
