Two Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) a capella groups placed in the Varsity Vocals International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinal held Feb. 23 at La Plata High School.

The Spartones of St. Charles High School placed second overall and Tamia Harrell, a sophomore, won for Outstanding Arrangement. The group advances to the semifinals this month.

La Plata High School’s Unplugged placed fourth at the quarterfinal with Cassidy Tetrault, a junior, and senior E.J. Santos receiving accolades for Outstanding Vocal Percussion on “Walk on Water.”
