News Release, Office of House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer(D-Md.)

WASHINGTON, DC –Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released a statement today after the League of Conservation Voters released their 2018 Scorecard. Due to an illness last year, Congressman Hoyer missed some of the votes used in this years’ scorecard. Because of that, he received a score of 63% in 2018.In 2017, he received a score of 97%,in 2016 his score was 92%, andin 2015 his score was 89%.

“I am gratefulfor the hard work of the League of Conservation Voters and for their tireless commitment to improving the air we breathe and the water we drink,”said Congressman Hoyer. “Climate change is real, and impacts all Marylanders.House Democrats are committed to taking action to address the impacts of climate change on our environment. I’vealsoworked hard in Congress to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay, so that generations of Maryland families can enjoy this great natural wonder.And with my colleagues in the Democratic Caucus, I’ve fought back against efforts by the Trump Administration to roll back critical public health and environmental safeguards.In the 116th Congress, I will continue to work with the League of Conservation Voters and my colleagues to improve our environment for future generations.”
