The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners recognized the month of March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Calvert County. Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month was established in 1987 by President Ronald Reagan to provide encouragement and opportunities necessary for people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential.
This month we recognize the efforts made to achieve a culture of inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life. Everyone benefits when people with and without disabilities live, learn and earn together in the community.
