Marbury, MD- Just after 3:00 a.m. this morning volunteer fire units were dispatched to a reported “smoke in wall near the attic” of a dwelling on Pisgah Marbury Road.

The box assignment brought 40 volunteer firefighters from Tenth District, Nanjemoy, Potomac Heights, Indian Head, La Plata, and Bel Alton along with mutual aid from NDW Stump Neck to the scene. Command was established by Chief 8A (Danielson) and operated with Company 8, 21, Truck 11, all other units “staged” nearby. Units found the walls surrounding the wood stove on fire, check for extension while extinguishing the small fire.

No injuries, notification made to the Fire Marshal’s Office. Family was not displaced as a result of this incident.
