Join us for a very special poetry reading on First Friday, May 3rd by Dr. Janice Talbert Walthour – “Sharing My Story Through Rhyme, Reason and Song”. A retired educator and community activist, Dr. Walthour’s presentations use the mediums of poetry and song to motivate and inspire student and community audiences.

These presentations involve telling stories of her family, of African American history, character sketches of friends, cultural experiences, advocacy, life’s lessons in general, and more.

A long-time community activist, poet, and motivational speaker, Dr. Walthour enjoys preparing and presenting thought-provoking messages that inform and entertain the audience. She will have a variety of poetry to share including her own original works as well as selected pieces by others.

The presentation time will be from 5:30-6:30 PM, doors will open at 5 PM. We will also have a raffle drawing for a prize for one lucky audience member, must be present to win.
